Taylors & Company
The Taylors & Company 1873 Cattleman revolver in .357 Magnum is a single-action sixgun built on the classic New Model frame geometry that made the Colt Peacemaker the standard for over 150 years. This 5.5-inch barrel version splits the difference between speed and sight radius, making it equally at home on the range, in the field, or as a faithful recreation of the working guns that settled the frontier. The charcoal blue finish sets it apart from typical modern bluing—it starts bright and rich, then naturally patinas over time into soft, elegant grey tones as you use the gun. That aging character is part of the appeal: your revolver becomes more beautiful the more you shoot it.
Built on a forged frame and fitted with walnut grips, this Cattleman handles like a proper working revolver. The .357 Magnum chamber gives you factory ammunition flexibility—you can load .38 Special for practice and reduced recoil, or step up to full-power magnums for hunting or defense. Fixed sights (front blade, rear notch) are as simple and reliable as iron sights get, with no batteries or adjustments to fail. At 2.50 lbs, it's light enough for all-day carry or field work without fatigue.
This is the gun for folks who appreciate classic design and don't mind a finish that develops character with use. Whether you're a Cowboy Action shooter, a sixgun enthusiast, or someone who wants a proven single-action revolver without modern complications, the Cattleman delivers authentic form and proven function.

Yes. The .357 Magnum chamber accepts .38 Special cartridges, so you can load either caliber depending on your needs—lighter .38 loads for practice and reduced recoil, or full-power magnums for hunting and defense.
Charcoal blue is an over-oxidized bluing process that starts as a bright, rich blue color. With regular use and handling, it naturally patinas into soft grey tones. The aging process is gradual and creates a beautiful, worn character unique to each gun—no two will age exactly the same way.
The 5.5-inch barrel balances velocity and practical handling. It's long enough to deliver decent bullet velocity and sight radius for accuracy, but short enough to be comfortable for all-day carry or field work without the weight penalty of longer barrels.
Yes. The 1873 Cattleman is a classic choice for Cowboy Action competitions and appeals to sixgun shooters, collectors, and anyone who appreciates authentic single-action revolver design and function.
