Taylors & Company
The Taylors & Co 1892 Alaskan Chrome takedown lever action rifle brings classic Winchester-style handling into a modern, packable platform built for hunters who demand serious performance in a lightweight package. Chambered in .357 Magnum and engineered around Hornady Leverevolution ammunition, this 16-inch barreled rifle delivers genuine hunting power in a compact 34-inch overall length that weighs just 5.9 lbs—ideal for brush hunting, backcountry access, or situations where maneuverability matters as much as stopping power.
The Alaskan's takedown design follows authentic 1892 disassembly principles: lever open the action, unscrew the magazine tube via the disassembly lever, twist the barrel 90 degrees, and separate. This lets you break the rifle down for packing or transport without specialized tools. The matte chrome finish resists corrosion in harsh conditions, while the D-shaped lever and half-octagonal barrel give it classic lever-gun aesthetics backed by modern metallurgy. Black soft-touch rubber over-molded onto the walnut stock and forend provides positive grip and weather resistance, anchored by a padded rubber butt pad that manages recoil.
Sighting options let you hunt your way: the integrated rear peep rail accepts standard Weaver optics, the front red fiber optic works in low light, and the barrel is drilled and tapped for Scout-style mounts and Weaver 61 bases. The barrel also carries 5/8 x 24 threads with a protector installed, opening the door to suppressors or muzzle devices if you want to tailor it further. A 5-round magazine capacity is plenty for most hunting scenarios where quick, decisive shots matter more than volume.
If you hunt whitetail in thick cover, stalk hogs, or need a reliable .357 Mag rifle that fits in a day pack or truck cab, the 1892 Alaskan combines genuine lever-gun tradition with practical modern features—no compromise, no hype.

Hold the tube slightly up from the action and twist the barrel 90 degrees perpendicular to the receiver, then separate. Note that large muzzle brakes or suppressors may need removal before disassembly. No special tools required.
The barrel is drilled and tapped for Scout-style mounts and Weaver 61 bases. The rear sight includes an integrated Weaver rail peep sight for mounting compatible optics. The rifle also ships with a red fiber optic front sight suitable for hunting out of the box.
Yes. The barrel is threaded 5/8 x 24 and ships with a thread protector installed. You can attach suppressors or muzzle devices to these threads, though you'll need to remove them before performing the takedown disassembly.
The Alaskan is specifically tuned for Hornady Leverevolution ammunition in .357 Magnum, which delivers the designed ballistic performance and reliability in this action.
