Taurus
The Taurus G3 Tactical TORO is a full-size, optics-ready 9mm striker-fired pistol built for shooters who want a duty-grade defensive handgun without compromise on modern upgrades. Unlike the standard G3, this tactical variant arrives with a Patriot Brown Cerakote slide and FDE polymer frame—a distinctly purposeful look that pairs durability with a platform ready to accept aftermarket enhancements. The G3 Tactical accepts a threaded barrel and comes fitted with Taurus's TORO optics-mounting system, letting you mount a red dot or reflex sight directly to the slide. It ships with two 17-round magazines, giving you serious capacity for training, competition, or duty use.
The gun handles like a purpose-built duty pistol. Fixed front sights and a drift-adjustable rear sight provide a clean sight picture out of the box. The action is striker-fired with a restrike capability—squeeze the trigger again without manipulating the slide if a round fails to fire. The trigger safety and visual loaded chamber indicator keep you aware of your gun's status. There's no manual safety lever, which suits the striker-fired profile and appeals to shooters who prefer a simple, defense-oriented trigger sequence. A full-length Picatinny rail under the barrel lets you mount lights, lasers, or other accessories.
At 4.5 inches, the barrel is long enough to generate solid velocity and sight radius while keeping the overall package at 7.76 inches—manageable in a duty holster or high-rider carry setup. The pistol weighs 24.83 ounces unloaded, striking a balance between controlability and durability. Polymer frame construction keeps the gun light, while the alloy steel slide and stainless DLC-finished barrel are built to run hard. The Patriot Brown Cerakote finish resists the elements and wear better than traditional paint or parkerizing.
If you're shopping for a modern, no-frills 9mm that's ready for a red dot and built tough for the range or field, the G3 Tactical TORO delivers performance without the boutique-brand markup.
