The Taurus 608 is a large-frame .357 Magnum revolver built for shooters who want serious stopping power in a practical defensive or range package. With its 4-inch barrel, matte stainless steel finish, and 8-round cylinder, this is a gun designed to work—whether you're carrying for protection, training at the range, or keeping one close at camp. The 608 handles both .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P ammunition, giving you flexibility to match your load to the situation without swapping guns.

Built on Taurus's large frame, the 608 delivers a substantial, controllable platform. The matte stainless steel finish resists corrosion without the glare of a polished surface, and the fixed front sight keeps things simple and reliable. The double-action/single-action trigger system lets you shoot DA for quick work or cock the hammer back for a crisp SA trigger press when you need precision. Smooth trigger pull and a transfer bar safety round out the design—no external hammer blocks or levers to fumble.

At 44 ounces, the 608 soaks up recoil effectively, making it more manageable than lighter magnums while still staying practical for carry if that's your intention. The rubber grips absorb punishment and provide secure purchase in wet conditions or with gloved hands. This is straightforward revolver engineering: eight rounds of .357 power in a configuration that's been proven across thousands of hours in the field and at the range.
