Taurus
The Taurus 1911 Commander Full-Size .45 ACP pistol brings classic 1911 ergonomics and stopping power in a compact, carry-friendly package. This single-action autoloader splits the difference between the full-size Government model and shorter Officer's variants, making it a natural choice for shooters who want genuine .45 ACP ballistics without the heft of a 5-inch gun. The 4.2-inch barrel keeps overall length to 7.9 inches while delivering the penetration and velocity that made the .45 ACP legendary—all without sacrificing the trigger control and grip angle that 1911 users have relied on for over a century.
Built with a matte black Cerakote finish over a steel frame, this Commander handles hard use and daily carry without showing every scratch. The custom VZ grips provide aggressive texture and confident purchase, even in wet conditions or when working fast. Novak drift-adjustable sights come standard, letting you dial in your point of impact at the range and keep zero locked in. A manual safety—the traditional thumb lever—gives you positive on/off control, and the checkered front strap reinforces a high grip without the snag risk of full coverage.
At 34.5 ounces and chambered in .45 ACP, this Commander pairs recoil management with magazine capacity: eight rounds in the mag plus one in the chamber means you're carrying nine shots of proven defensive and hunting rounds. The single-stack feed and proven 1911 platform mean reliable function whether you're at the range, on a hunting trip, or carrying for personal defense. One magazine is included.
