TacFire
The TacFire AR Build Kit in 9mm Luger with a 4.50" barrel is a straightforward path to completing an AR platform rifle in America's most popular pistol caliber. Whether you're building your first AR-9 for plinking, home defense, or just want a softer-shooting, lower-recoil companion to your centerfire rifles, this kit brings together the core components you need. TacFire keeps things no-nonsense: quality basics, black finish, and a short barrel that keeps the overall platform handy without sacrificing reliability.
AR-9 builds have become mainstream in the last few years, and for good reason. Nine millimeter ammo is easier on the wallet than most rifle calibers, hearing protection is still wise but recoil is genuinely mild, and a short-barreled carbine in 9mm works just fine for intermediate distances. This TacFire kit assembles into a rifle you'll actually want to shoot and train with regularly. The 4.50" barrel strikes a practical balance—short enough to handle in tight spaces, long enough to let 9mm reach decent velocity.
Building from a kit means you control the final product. You decide on furniture, sights, and finishing touches that match your mission. TacFire has handled the heavy lifting: receiver, bolt carrier group, barrel, and essentials are already sorted. If you've built an AR before, assembly is familiar. If this is your first, plenty of community resources and guides walk you through each step. Finish it your way—and own the result.
| Caliber | 9mm Luger |
| Barrel Length | 4.50" |
| Finish | Black |
| Platform | AR |
The kit contains the core components needed for an AR-9 build. For a complete parts list specific to your kit, contact us or check the manufacturer documentation—kit contents can vary, and we want to make sure you know exactly what you're assembling before you start.
This is a partial build kit. Depending on what's included, you may need to source a lower receiver, furniture (stock, grip, handguard), charging handle, safety selector, sights or optic, and magazines—all readily available. We're happy to help you identify what else you'll need.
Standard commercial 9mm Luger (9x19mm) ammunition—the same round used in most 9mm pistols. This is the most widely available and affordable center-fire round you can shoot.
Many standard AR parts are compatible, but 9mm-specific magazines and feeding systems are required. The bolt carrier group, barrel, and bolt must all be tailored for 9mm. When building or upgrading, verify compatibility with your specific platform.
