The Tacfire AR-15 .45 ACP Gen 2 Bolt Carrier Group is the core component you need to complete a reliable .45 ACP AR pistol caliber carbine (PCC) build. Whether you're assembling an AR-45 from the ground up or upgrading an existing platform, this BCG pairs with your choice of .45 ACP barrel and upper receiver to deliver the functionality that makes AR-format PCCs such practical and effective firearms for home defense, training, and recreational shooting.
The Gen 2 design incorporates a premium nitride finish on the bolt, a coating that reduces friction and wear while promoting reliable operation through sustained fire. Nitride hardening also provides excellent corrosion resistance, so your BCG handles regular use and varied storage conditions without degradation. This finish is standard in quality AR components and a practical choice for shooters who want dependable performance without constant maintenance.
Building a .45 ACP AR is a straightforward process once you have a compatible upper assembly and barrel, and the Tacfire Gen 2 BCG handles the reciprocating work that makes the platform function. If you're new to AR-format PCC building, pair this group with a dedicated .45 ACP upper and barrel, then install it into your lower receiver following standard AR assembly procedures. The result is a firearm that leverages familiar AR ergonomics and controls in a relatively quiet, low-recoil caliber ideal for indoor range sessions and tactical training.
Tacfire has built a reputation for delivering functional, cost-conscious parts that perform reliably across various AR builds. This Gen 2 bolt carrier group continues that pattern—a straightforward, durable component designed to do its job without the markup of premium brands.

The Tacfire Gen 2 BCG is designed for use with dedicated .45 ACP AR-15 upper receivers and barrels. You cannot use this BCG in a standard 5.56 NATO or 9mm upper; it is caliber-specific. Confirm that your upper and barrel are both chambered in .45 ACP before assembly.
Yes, the Tacfire Gen 2 .45 ACP BCG is compatible with standard AR-15 lower receivers. Install it into your lower using standard AR assembly methods, then pair the complete rifle with a .45 ACP-chambered upper and barrel.
The nitride finish hardens the bolt surface, reducing friction and wear during firing cycles. It also resists corrosion, helping your BCG maintain reliability through regular use and varied storage conditions without heavy maintenance.
An AR pistol caliber carbine is an AR-platform firearm chambered in a handgun caliber like .45 ACP rather than a rifle round. PCCs are popular for training, home defense, and recreational shooting because they offer familiar AR ergonomics and controls in a platform with less recoil and noise than rifle-caliber ARs, and they share ammunition with your .45 ACP handguns.
