Surefire
The SureFire SOCOM muzzle brake for .338 AR-platform rifles tackles two of the biggest challenges in shooting large-caliber semi-autos: punishing recoil and muzzle rise. Built from US mill-certified, heat-treated stainless steel and finished in durable black DLC coating, this 3/4"-24 threaded brake is engineered to manage both shooter comfort and gun control on the range or in the field. At 2.60" overall length, it's compact enough for modern AR builds while delivering the recoil reduction and port design that keep your rounds on target.
SureFire's neutral porting strategy distributes gas flow to reduce recoil impulse without uneven bias to either bipod leg—critical if you're running support gear. The brake is precision-machined with multiple bearing surfaces that serve a dual purpose: they control recoil and align perfectly with SureFire SOCOM Series sound suppressors, so upgrading to a suppressor down the road is seamless. Every brake is individually inspected for concentricity and dimensional accuracy to ensure consistent thread fit and zero shift. The black DLC coating stands up to carbon fouling and field conditions, and cleanup after heavy shooting is straightforward.
For short-barreled rifle builds, the brake includes pilot holes for pin-and-weld work if needed to meet legal barrel-length requirements. Whether you're running a precision .338 AR or a dedicated hunting build, this brake balances serious recoil management with suppressor-host compatibility—a rare combination at this class of hardware.
| Caliber | .338 / 8.60 mm |
| Thread Size | 3/4"-24 |
| Overall Length | 2.60" |
| Material | US mill-certified heat-treated stainless steel |
| Finish | Black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) |
| Application | AR-platform rifles |
| Suppressor Compatibility | SureFire SOCOM Series sound suppressors |
Yes. The SureFire SOCOM muzzle brake is specifically designed to serve as a rock-solid mounting adapter for SureFire SOCOM Series sound suppressors. Multiple bearing surfaces ensure superior alignment and a secure, repeatable fit.
The brake includes pilot holes for pin-and-weld installation, making it a practical option for meeting legal barrel-length requirements on short-barreled rifle builds.
This brake is designed for .338 / 8.60 mm caliber AR-platform rifles with 3/4"-24 threaded barrels. Confirm your barrel's thread pitch and caliber before purchase.
The black DLC finish provides maximum protection against harsh environmental conditions and makes cleanup after carbon-heavy shooting much easier than traditional stainless steel.
