Strike King
The Strike King Thunder Cricket vibrating swim jig in 3/8 ounce Chart Blue Glimmer is a bladed swim jig built to trigger reaction strikes across changing conditions. Co-designed by tournament pros Kevin VanDam, Greg Hackney, and Andy Montgomery, this jig combines a stainless steel blade with a traditional jungle-style flipping hook—giving you a lure that swims with flash and vibration whether you're covering shallow grass, working mid-water structure, or probing deeper zones. The Chart Blue Glimmer color is a versatile choice for clear to moderately stained water, offering visibility without overdoing the flash.
What sets the Thunder Cricket apart is its thin, stiff blade design paired with Strike King's Panther Hide paint finish. The blade geometry maximizes swimming action and the felt thump that bass respond to, while the blade's stiffness keeps it vibrating consistently at a range of retrieve speeds. Cast it out and rip it fast for a reaction bite, or slow-roll it to cover suspended fish and deeper structure—the jig performs in both scenarios. The jungle-style hook is designed to turn quickly and hold solid on the hookset, which matters when you're fishing a vibrating jig and need a high ratio of hooked fish to bites.
This is a lure for anglers who fish bladed swim jigs as a primary search tool, not a novelty. If you're already running swim jigs, you know the appeal: fast water coverage, all-season use, and the ability to trigger fish that won't commit to soft plastics. The 3/8 ounce weight is the middle ground—heavy enough for wind and deeper water, light enough to fish shallow and maintain blade action on a slower retrieve.

A vibrating swim jig, like the Thunder Cricket, uses a thin blade attached to the jig head that oscillates side-to-side as you retrieve, creating vibration and flash. A traditional swim jig relies on a paddle or blade that rotates. The vibrating design often triggers more reaction bites and works across a wider range of retrieve speeds without fouling.
The 3/8 ounce weight is the middle ground for bladed swim jigs. It casts well in light to moderate wind, stays in the water column without sinking too fast, and is at home from shallow grass beds down to 8–12 feet. It's a good all-around size for general bass fishing rather than ultra-shallow or ultra-deep specialization.
Yes. Chart Blue Glimmer provides excellent visibility in clear and slightly stained water without producing excessive flash. If you're fishing very murky water, a darker or more opaque color may be more effective; if visibility is high, this color balances presence and a natural profile.
You receive the single Thunder Cricket vibrating swim jig as pictured. It comes rigged and ready to fish out of the package.
