The Standard MFG SP12 Compact 12ga pump action shotgun brings genuine ambidextrous control to a short-barreled home defense platform. Unlike most shotguns that force southpaws to contort themselves or compromise handling, the SP12's controls—safety, charging handle, and shell feed/eject—work equally from either shoulder. You get true left-and-right symmetry, not an afterthought. At 14.5 inches with a birds-head grip and overall length of 26.5 inches, it's compact enough for tight spaces and vehicle stowage without sacrificing shootability or capacity.
The SP12 is chambered for 1¾", 2¾", and 3" 12-gauge ammunition, giving you flexibility to load whatever shells suit your situation—reduced-recoil rounds for practice, standard ammunition for most applications, or magnum loads when you need them. With seven rounds of 2¾" ammo in the magazine plus one in the chamber, you're looking at 7+1 capacity. The action is smooth and proven pump-gun reliable, and the aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum receiver is machined from a solid billet for durability and lightweight handling. A threaded barrel accepts choke tubes and accessories, and the full-length M-LOK mounting system lets you add optics, lights, or other gear without gunsmithing.
Standard MFG's compact configuration puts this shotgun in the ATF "other" category, keeping it handy without the features that trigger long-gun restrictions in some jurisdictions. Whether you're building a home-defense battery, want a versatile short-range slug gun, or simply appreciate thoughtful ambi ergonomics, the SP12 Compact delivers professional-grade engineering in a platform that works for shooters of any hand preference.
