Standard Manufacturing
The Standard MFG SKO Shorty is a modern 12-gauge semi-auto shotgun built for serious shooters who want AR-platform familiarity in a compact, fast-cycling package. With an 18-inch barrel, overall length under 29 inches, and a lightweight build around 7.14 lbs, this 12ga semi-automatic shotgun excels for home defense, competition, and tactical use where maneuverability matters. The gas-operated action cycles both 2¾-inch and 3-inch shells reliably, with a 5-round magazine included and quick bolt hold-open after the last shot—features that make the SKO Shorty stand out among semi-auto shotguns in its class.
Built entirely in the USA, the SKO Shorty is machined from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum and hard-anodized to Mil-Spec standards, delivering durability without excess weight. Internal components are salt-bath nitride coated for smooth, consistent operation across a variety of loads. The receiver, barrel (4140 steel), and controls are engineered for reliability and long service life, whether you're running it hard at the range or staking your home defense plan on it.
What makes this semi-automatic shotgun instantly approachable is its AR-style control layout: ambidextrous safety, mag release, and bolt release all positioned where AR shooters expect them. The polymer grip accepts standard AR furniture, and the composite forend includes slots for MOE and bolt-on rails, letting you customize it to your setup. A threaded muzzle accepts Tru-Choke thread pattern chokes, giving you flexibility for different shooting scenarios—bird, buck, or breaching tubes all supported.
