The Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt is a lightweight folding knife built for users who need a compact, corrosion-resistant blade they can trust in harsh environments. Whether you're working near salt water, dealing with humid coastal conditions, or just want a smaller knife that won't rust out on you, the H1 steel blade and yellow textured handle make this a practical choice for fishing, camping, or everyday carry in demanding climates. At just 2.25 inches, it's small enough to slip into a pocket or pack without bulk, yet substantial enough to handle real cutting tasks.

H1 steel is Spyderco's answer to corrosion—it's a stainless composition that resists rust and oxidation far better than standard stainless blades, making it ideal if you're around saltwater, moisture, or high-humidity environments where conventional steel would degrade. The stonewashed finish on the blade gives it a practical, lived-in look while helping to mask wear and minor marks. The yellow textured FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) handle is durable, lightweight, and provides good grip even when wet or cold.

This is a true folder—the blade locks securely and includes a pocket clip for reliable carry. The Dragonfly 2 Salt isn't trying to be a heavy-duty camp knife or survival blade; it's designed to be the knife you actually have on you when you need a knife, whether you're a saltwater angler, coastal outdoorsperson, or someone who simply refuses to let corrosion dictate their gear choices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this knife handle saltwater and coastal use?

Yes—the H1 steel blade is specifically engineered to resist corrosion from salt water and high-moisture environments. It's a popular choice for anglers, boaters, and anyone working in humid or salty conditions where standard stainless steel would degrade.

Is the Dragonfly 2 Salt too small for practical cutting tasks?

At 2.25 inches, it's compact, but it's a genuine working blade. It excels at detail work, opening packages, cleaning fish, food prep, and general camp tasks. The tradeoff is portability—you get a knife small enough to always have with you, versus a larger blade you might leave behind.

What's included with the knife?

The knife comes with a pocket clip for carry. Spyderco does not include a sheath with this model.

How does the yellow textured handle perform when wet?

The textured FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) grip is designed to maintain control even in wet or slippery conditions. The yellow color also makes the knife easy to locate if it's set down in brush or grass.
