Spro
The Spro FlappinFrog 65 is a 2 1/2 inch hollow body topwater frog designed to give you the aggressive surface disturbance of a buzzbait without sacrificing the weed-slicing, snag-proof design that makes frogs so effective in heavy cover. Weighing 5/8 ounce, this lure features paddle legs that deliver a consistent buzzing and kicking action on the retrieve—a proven call that draws strikes from bass hiding in lily pads, matted vegetation, and shallow timber. The Natural Red finish blends into low-light conditions and stained water where big bass hunt, making it a reliable choice for dawn, dusk, and overcast days.
Hollow body frogs excel in places where traditional hard baits get hung up or fouled, but the FlappinFrog 65 takes that advantage further. Instead of relying on a quiet, subtle approach, the paddle legs create genuine topwater commotion that mimics struggling baitfish and triggers aggressive, instinctive strikes. That combination—weedless reliability plus active surface appeal—makes this frog equally at home in pristine shallow water and in the gnarliest, thickest cover your local lake has to offer.
Whether you're working shallow flats in spring, targeting laydowns and downed timber, or punching into dense aquatic vegetation, the FlappinFrog 65 is a compact, easy-to-cast option that delivers results without the snag anxiety that comes with larger, heavier topwater plugs. Pair it with a rod and reel rated for frog work, keep your drag loose enough to absorb hard strikes, and be ready for explosive takes.
| Length | 2 1/2 inches |
| Weight | 5/8 ounce |
| Type | Hollow Body Topwater Frog |
| Color | Natural Red |
| Action | Buzzing / Kicking paddle legs |
Yes. The hollow body design is weedless by nature, allowing the frog to slide over and through dense weeds, lily pads, and vegetation where solid topwater baits would foul or hang up. The paddle legs create disturbance without sacrificing that core weedless advantage.
The FlappinFrog 65 produces similar surface commotion through its paddle legs, but it's weedless like a hollow body frog, so you can fish it in thicker cover where a buzzbait would get tangled or snagged. You get the aggressive strike-triggering action with the cover-penetrating design.
We don't have specific rod or line recommendations in our product data. We'd suggest discussing that with our team at the shop—they can dial you in based on your typical water and target fish.
Natural Red works well in low-light situations and stained water where darker, more natural tones blend in better. On bright, clear days or in full sun, you may want to experiment with other available colors to see what the bass prefer in your home waters.
