The SilencerCo billet stripped AR-15 upper receiver is a precision-machined foundation for building a custom rifle tailored to your needs. Machined from 7075 aluminum and finished in type III hard anodize, this upper gives you a clean slate to assemble an AR platform exactly the way you want it—whether you're building a long-range tack driver, a duty rifle, or a suppressor-ready host. Because it ships stripped (no bolt carrier group, charging handle, or internals), you have complete control over every component that goes into your build.

SilencerCo engineered this upper with mil-spec compatibility in mind. The 1913 Picatinny rail runs the full length of the upper, giving you mounting flexibility for optics, night vision, or accessories. M4 feed ramps ensure reliable feeding across a wide range of ammunition, and the receiver is machined to accept mil-spec forward assists and dust covers—standard parts you likely already have or can source easily. This is a no-compromise foundation: billet construction is inherently stronger than forged receivers and offers tighter tolerances for precision shooting.

Whether you're completing your first AR or adding another upper to your collection, a stripped upper receiver is the starting point for a truly custom build. Pair this with a compatible lower receiver, your choice of bolt carrier group, and a barrel profile matched to your mission—and you've got a rifle built your way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to complete this upper receiver?

This is a stripped upper, so you'll need to source a bolt carrier group, charging handle, and a barrel—plus your choice of handguard and other components depending on your build. You'll also need a compatible lower receiver to create a complete rifle.

Is this upper receiver compatible with standard AR-15 parts?

Yes. This upper is designed to mil-spec standards, so it accepts mil-spec forward assists, dust covers, and any standard AR-15 bolt carrier group and charging handle. The full-length Picatinny rail is compatible with any standard optics mount or accessory.

Can I use this upper with a suppressor?

This upper receiver is a quality foundation suitable for suppressor-ready builds. You'll need to pair it with a compatible barrel and bolt carrier group designed for suppressed use, along with a compatible lower receiver to complete your rifle.

What's the advantage of a billet upper over a forged one?

Billet receivers are machined from solid aluminum stock, which allows tighter tolerances and inherently stronger construction compared to forged receivers. This translates to improved precision potential and durability, especially in demanding applications.
