SIERRA BULLETS
The Sierra Sports Master .45 Cal 300 Grain JSP is a handgun reloading bullet engineered for hunters and handgunners pursuing heavy game with powerful revolver platforms. At 300 grains, this jacketed soft point round is built to penetrate deep and expand reliably only when driven at the highest velocities—up to 1550 fps—making it ideal for maximum-power loads in specialized handguns where velocity and energy are no object.
What sets the Sports Master JSP apart is its exceptionally hard core construction. Sierra loaded this bullet with a proprietary lead alloy containing 6% antimony and 4% tin, creating one of the toughest bullets Sierra manufactures. That hardness means controlled expansion on the most demanding game; it won't open prematurely on lighter hits, and it demands the kind of velocity and energy that only the most powerful handgun cartridges can deliver. This is not a general-purpose revolver round—it's a specialized hunting tool.
The Sports Master JSP is purpose-built for the strongest .45 Colt revolvers (Freedom Arms, Dan Wesson, and Ruger models), single-shot T/C Contenders, and .454 Casull revolvers. The bullet's length and solid construction mean it cannot be loaded in Colt Single Action Army revolvers or their modern reproductions, so verify your platform before ordering. Introduced in 1994, this bullet has proven itself in the hands of handgun hunters pursuing serious game where traditional bullet performance falls short.
Reloaders working with top-tier revolver platforms will appreciate the quality and consistency of Sierra's manufacturing. Each box contains 50 bullets, giving you plenty for load development and field use. If your handgun hunting calls for a bullet that demands respect and delivers uncompromising performance, the Sports Master JSP belongs on your bench.

The Sports Master 300 grain JSP is designed for the strongest .45 Colt revolvers (Freedom Arms, Dan Wesson, and Ruger models), single-shot T/C Contenders, and .454 Casull revolvers. Due to the bullet's length and solid construction, it cannot be loaded in Colt Single Action Army revolvers or their modern reproductions.
Despite the "soft point" designation, the Sports Master JSP is one of the hardest bullets Sierra produces. Its hard lead alloy core (6% antimony, 4% tin) means it expands only at extreme velocities—up to 1550 fps—providing controlled expansion and deep penetration on heavy game rather than opening prematurely.
This is a specialized hunting bullet for the heaviest game on a handgunner's agenda. It's intended for hunters using maximum-power handgun platforms where conventional bullets lack sufficient penetration and structural integrity.
Each box contains 50 bullets, giving reloaders ample supply for load development and hunting use.
