Shooters Choice
Shooters Choice Foaming Bore Cleaner is a chemical bore cleaner designed to reduce the elbow grease needed during routine firearm maintenance. Instead of spending hours scrubbing, you spray this expanding foam into the breech end, let chemistry and time handle the work, and follow up with your standard cleaning kit. It's a practical addition to any shooter's bench—especially useful when you've put heavy rounds downrange and fouling has built up inside the barrel.
The foam expands to fill the bore completely, ensuring the cleaning agent reaches all the surface area inside the barrel where powder residue, lead, and copper fouling accumulate. You position the firearm with the breech slightly elevated, apply the cleaner, and wait while the foam breaks down the stubborn deposits. Once the foam has done its work, you remove it and finish the job with your existing rod, patches, and brushes. A quick lubricant and protectant afterward leaves the bore protected and ready to shoot.
Made in the USA, this 3 oz. can is convenient for bench work or field cleanup. It's straightforward chemistry—no complicated procedure, no special equipment required beyond the firearm safety practices you already follow: make sure the gun is unloaded, secure it safely, and keep the breech end slightly elevated to prevent fouling from dripping into the action.

Ensure your firearm is unloaded and secured (in a vice or on a horizontal surface with the breech end slightly elevated). Spray the foam into the breech end until the bore is full, then let it sit while the foam breaks down the fouling. Once it has worked, remove the foam and finish cleaning with your standard rod, patches, and brushes. Follow up with a lubricant and protectant.
No. Foaming Bore Cleaner is designed to work alongside your existing cleaning kit. You'll still use your normal rod, patches, and brushes to finish the job after the foam has loosened the fouling.
Elevating the breech slightly reduces the chance of fouling and cleaner seeping into the action of your firearm during the cleaning process.
