A billet mag release for your AR-platform rifle doesn't need to be complicated—it just needs to work reliably and feel right in your hand. The Seekins Precision AR-Platform Billet Mag Release delivers exactly that: a machined-from-solid 6061-T6 aluminum component finished in red anodize, built to the exacting standards that competition shooters and serious hunters expect. Whether you're running a tactical rifle, match gun, or general-purpose build, upgrading from a cast mag release to a precision-milled unit improves durability and gives you a control that feels more intentional every time you hit the paddle.

Constructed from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this mag release is stronger and more consistent than stamped alternatives. The red anodized finish provides corrosion resistance while making it immediately visible in your setup—practical if you like your controls to stand out or simply want a touch of color that doesn't compromise function. The billet manufacturing process means tighter tolerances and fewer weak points, so you get a mag release that will survive thousands of cycles on the range or in the field.

If you're building a precision AR or refreshing worn controls on an existing rifle, this is a straightforward, no-fuss upgrade. Drop it into your lower receiver and enjoy the solid, intentional feel that proper engineering delivers. Not flashy—just better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this mag release fit my AR-15 lower receiver?

Yes, this is designed for standard AR-platform lower receivers. It's a direct replacement for the factory mag release and requires no modification to install.

What's the advantage of a billet mag release over a cast one?

Billet components are machined from solid aluminum stock, resulting in tighter tolerances, greater consistency, and superior durability compared to cast parts. You'll notice a more solid feel and longer service life.

Is the red anodize just for looks?

The anodized finish serves a practical purpose: it provides corrosion resistance to protect the aluminum from oxidation and wear. The red color is a bonus—it makes the control easy to spot and adds a visual accent to your build.
