Sea Sense Marine
A solid anchor line needs to absorb punishment—the kind of shock load that comes from your boat pitching in a seaway or swinging hard against a rising tide. The Sea Sense Anchor Line in twisted nylon, 1/2-inch diameter by 100 feet, is built for exactly that. Three-strand nylon construction gives you the elongation properties needed to cushion those dynamic forces, so your anchor system stays secure even when conditions get rough. Whether you're holding in a favorite anchorage or waiting out a weather window, this is the working backbone of your ground tackle.
Sea Sense engineered this line with high-quality nylon fibers throughout—not the cheap stuff that degrades in UV or loses strength when wet. The rope comes factory eye-spliced on one end with a non-corrosive nylon thimble, so you get a professional termination ready to shackle to your anchor without field splicing. At 100 feet, you've got plenty of scope to work with on most cruising boats, and the 1/2-inch diameter balances ease of handling with solid breaking strength.
This is anchor line built by people who understand what happens when your boat is on the hook. No shortcuts, no surprises—just dependable three-strand nylon that will take the shock loads season after season.
| Diameter | 1/2 inch |
| Length | 100 feet |
| Construction | Three-strand twisted nylon |
| Safe Working Load | 550 lbs |
| Breaking Strength | 5,200 lbs |
| Termination | Factory eye-spliced with nylon thimble |
| Thimble Material | Non-corrosive nylon |
The 1/2-inch diameter and factory eye-splice with nylon thimble are compatible with most cruising boat anchor setups where 550 lbs Safe Working Load is adequate. Check your anchor shackle size against the thimble opening to confirm fit before ordering.
The 100-foot length gives you flexibility depending on water depth and holding conditions. Most anchoring guides recommend 7:1 to 10:1 scope (rope length to water depth) in good holding; adjust based on weather and bottom type.
Nylon's natural elasticity absorbs the shock loads created by boat motion and tide swings, protecting both your anchor system and boat. The elongation properties in three-strand twisted nylon specifically handle the dynamic forces better than stiffer alternatives.
While nylon is splicing-friendly, the factory eye-splice termination on this line comes ready to use. For extensions or repairs, follow proper three-strand splicing techniques or have a professional rigger handle it to ensure a reliable connection.
