Southern Lure Baits
The Scum Frog Pro Series 5/8oz hollow body frog in Green Pumpkin-Chart/Black is built for topwater bass fishing when other lures fall short. Southern Lure Baits engineered this frog around proven design principles: a glass rattle loud enough to draw fish from thick cover, a premium 4/0 Owner hook with an upward angle to boost hooksets, and a brass weight system that keeps the frog balanced and landing belly-down every cast. The nose ring design lets you work that classic "walk the dog" retrieve with minimal hang-ups, giving you freedom to work vegetation, lily pads, and shallow structure where frogs belong.
This is a frog for serious topwater fishing. The rattle sits low on the hook shank—positioned to maximize underwater noise while staying clear of your hookset. That balance of noise and hook placement matters when you're fishing shallow, heavy cover where bass are aggressive but selective. The Green Pumpkin-Chart/Black colorway is a proven combination for visibility and natural forage imitation across a range of water conditions.
Whether you're fishing muddy lakes, stained creeks, or clear reservoirs, hollow body frogs excel in situations where you need a large profile, slow retrieve, and commotion near the surface. The Scum Frog Pro Series brings tournament-tested features to every cast—no compromises on hook quality, rattle design, or balance.

The 5/8oz Scum Frog Pro Series is designed as a topwater presentation for largemouth and smallmouth bass. The larger profile and noise appeal to aggressive fish, particularly in shallow, weedy, or heavy-cover scenarios where bigger bass hunt.
Yes. Hollow body frogs are specifically engineered for shallow vegetation. The nose ring and upward hook angle reduce snagging while keeping the lure weedless during the retrieve and on the strike.
The Green Pumpkin-Chart/Black color and glass rattle system make this frog effective in stained conditions. The loud rattle helps fish locate it when visibility is low, and the high-contrast color remains visible in turbid water.
The nose ring design is built to support the "walk the dog" retrieve—a side-to-side twitch that mimics a fleeing prey. You can also use a steady, slow retrieve or pause-and-twitch patterns depending on bass activity.
