Safariland
The Safariland ALS Belt Paddle Holster for S&W M&P Shield delivers the security and speed you need for everyday carry or duty use. Built on Safariland's proven ALS (Automatic Locking System) platform, this right-hand OWB paddle holster locks your Shield automatically when holstered—no thumb break required—then releases cleanly when you need it. The SafariLaminate construction is durable, weather-resistant, and designed to handle the daily grind without adding bulk to your waistband.
If you carry a Shield and want a holster that works hard without demanding constant adjustment or fussing with retention straps, this is a solid choice. The paddle mount sits outside the waistband, making it accessible from most positions and easy to don and doff without reholstering your pistol. SafariLaminate is lighter and more forgiving than hardshell plastics alone, striking a balance between durability and comfort during extended wear.
Safariland's ALS system has earned trust across law enforcement and civilian shooters for good reason: the mechanical lock is intuitive, requires minimal training, and stays put until you actively disengage it. Whether you're hitting the range, heading out for duty, or carrying daily, this holster integrates security with accessibility in a design that's been field-proven for years.

Yes, this holster is specifically designed for the S&W M&P Shield. The model number 6378179411 is configured for that platform.
The ALS (Automatic Locking System) locks your firearm the moment it enters the holster—no manual strap or thumb break needed. It engages automatically, reducing training and draw time, and you release it by simply pulling straight up and back during the draw stroke.
This is an outside-the-waistband (OWB) paddle holster, meaning it rides outside your pants or jacket for easy access and visibility of the paddle attachment to your belt.
This model is configured for right-hand draw. If you need left-hand carry, Safariland makes a separate left-hand version; this specific model will not accommodate a left-hand draw.
