S.O.G
The S.O.G Pentagon OTF is a professionally-built automatic knife designed for users who demand reliable one-handed deployment in high-stakes situations. Built in the USA, this out-the-front (OTF) switchblade pairs S.O.G's Dynamic Lock-up System—engineered to maximize blade stability and lock strength—with a CPM S35VN blade finished in hard black titanium nitride. The spear point geometry delivers a balance of edge geometry suitable for cutting tasks, while the flat dark earth aluminum handle offers a solid, lightweight platform that resists corrosion. At 6.7 ounces closed, it's compact enough for pocket carry or gear bags without bulk, yet robust enough for demanding field use.
The Pentagon's appeal lies in its serious engineering. OTF knives live or die by their lock reliability, and S.O.G's Dynamic Lock-up System sets this knife apart from the crowd of generic alternatives. CPM S35VN is a stainless steel that holds an edge longer than softer stainless blends, resists corrosion in wet environments, and makes maintenance straightforward for a working knife. The black TiNi coating protects the blade and eliminates glint—useful whether you're a first responder, tactical operator, or someone who values a tool that works when it matters.
Sized for one-handed carry and deployment, the Pentagon closes to just over 4 inches and opens to approximately 9 inches overall, making it legal to carry in most jurisdictions (always verify local law). The aluminum handle is durable without excess weight, and the flat dark earth color blends with professional gear setups. This is a knife for people who understand the difference between a novelty switchblade and a genuine tool engineered to perform.

The Pentagon opens to 9.08 inches overall and closes to 4.06 inches, which fits within the legal limits of many jurisdictions. However, OTF knife laws vary significantly by state and locality—some states restrict automatic knives outright, while others allow them. Always check your local and state laws before purchase and carry.
CPM S35VN is a premium stainless steel that holds an edge longer than standard stainless grades, offers better corrosion resistance, and is easier to sharpen. It's a common choice in professional and tactical knives where reliability and low maintenance matter.
S.O.G's Dynamic Lock-up System is designed to maximize the strength and reliability of the blade lock, preventing blade closure during use. This is critical in OTF knives, where the blade must remain rock-solid under pressure. The specific mechanical details are part of S.O.G's engineering, but the result is a knife trusted by professionals.
The Pentagon OTF is built for users who need a reliable, one-handed automatic knife in professional contexts. Its American manufacturing, stainless steel construction, aluminum handle, and proven lock system make it suitable for first responders, tactical operators, and serious users—but confirm it meets your agency or organizational standards before relying on it in a professional capacity.
