S.O.G
The S.O.G SOG-TAC Auto Compact is a no-nonsense folding knife built for hunters, field workers, and anyone who needs a reliable blade within arm's reach. With a 2.94-inch tanto-profile blade in TiNi Cryo D2 steel, this is a knife that cuts through the noise—literally. The tanto shape gives you a sharp, reinforced point and a flat cutting edge that excels at both precision work and tougher tasks. The black anodized aluminum handle feels solid in your hand and won't snag on gear, and the automatic deployment means you get the blade out fast when seconds count.
D2 steel is a proven choice for serious knife users: it holds an edge well, resists corrosion with the TiNi Cryo treatment, and is straightforward to maintain in the field. The compact form factor and included pocket clip make this knife easy to stash in a pack, truck, or belt without bulk or weight penalty. Whether you're field-dressing game, camp chores, or everyday carry, the SOG-TAC Auto delivers the kind of honest performance that doesn't require a sales pitch.
S.O.G has a long track record building knives and gear for military and civilian users who expect reliability under real conditions. The SOG-TAC Auto Compact carries that DNA—it's not flashy, but it works.

A tanto has a sharp, reinforced point and a relatively flat cutting edge, making it excellent for piercing and controlled, precise cuts. It's a strong choice if you do fine fieldwork or need a blade that won't fold under pressure at the tip. A drop point is more traditional for game processing; it's curved and typically gentler. Both work—it comes down to your preference and technique.
D2 is a high-carbon steel that holds an edge well and is relatively simple to sharpen with a field stone or steel. The TiNi Cryo treatment adds corrosion resistance, but like any carbon steel in wet conditions, it benefits from regular wipe-downs to avoid rust. A light coat of oil or blade wax in damp weather will keep it performing.
The SOG-TAC Auto Compact comes with a pocket clip for carry. No sheath or additional accessories are mentioned.
Yes. The compact size, sturdy blade, and rapid automatic opening make it well-suited to hunting, camp work, and field tasks. The pocket clip allows convenient carry on your person or pack.
