Rossi
The Rossi R95 is a straightforward, no-frills rifle built for shooters who value reliability and simplicity over tactical complexity. Chambered in .45 Colt with an 18-inch barrel, this lever-action rifle delivers the classic power of one of handloading's most versatile cartridges in a compact, handy package. If you're drawn to traditional lever guns for hunting, recreational shooting, or backwoods work, the R95 offers honest mechanics and honest performance without the price tag of premium brands.
Lever-action rifles remain one of the most natural-feeling firearms to operate—short, fast cycle times, natural ergonomics, and the satisfying mechanics that have worked for over a century. The R95's 10-round capacity and fixed sights mean you get a rifle that's ready to work out of the box, without needing to source optics or rail accessories before your first shot. The black finish and hardwood furniture give it a classic appearance that works equally well in the field or at the range.
The .45 Colt cartridge deserves a moment here: it's widely available, historically affordable, and deeply rewarding to handload. Factory ammunition spans from modest cowboy-action loads to potent hunting rounds, making the R95 flexible for everything from 25-yard plinkers to serious game. The 18-inch barrel keeps things compact without sacrificing the velocity you'd expect from the caliber, making it an honest choice for hunters working brush or timber where a long gun needs to maneuver.
Rossi has built lever guns for decades. The R95 isn't fancy—it's a working rifle designed to be affordable, maintainable, and reliable. If you're building a battery of firearms or want a second rifle that does one thing well without complications, the R95 deserves consideration.
