Rosco Manufacturing
The Rosco 20" SPR Purebred .223 Wylde Precision Rifle Barrel is built for shooters serious about extending range and tightening groups on mid-length rifle platforms. Chambered in .223 Wylde — that hybrid that reliably shoots both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition — this 20-inch barrel pairs the classic SPR (Special Purpose Rifle) profile with Rosco's reputation for consistent, accurate performance. Whether you're stretching an MK12 build further downrange, converting a 20-inch carbine for competition, or chasing tighter groups at distance, this barrel delivers the precision you're paying for.
Built from 416R stainless steel and finished with a bead-blast surface, the Purebred is engineered for the precision-rifle shooter who understands that barrel quality compounds everything downstream. The 1:7 twist rate handles the .223 Wylde platform's full range of projectiles reliably, while the rifle-length gas system keeps recoil and wear in balance over thousands of rounds. At 20 inches, you're landing in that sweet spot between velocity and handling — long enough to preserve velocity for extended-range work, short enough to keep your rifle maneuverable and ergonomic.
Rosco's Purebred line focuses on the essentials: precision manufacturing, consistent bore work, and a proven track record among competitors and serious hobbyists. This isn't a barrel with marketing noise — it's the kind that shows up at matches and stays zeroed. If you're rebuilding with intent to perform, this barrel justifies the investment.

Yes. The .223 Wylde chamber is specifically designed to safely and reliably fire both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington cartridges, making it more versatile than a strict .223 Remington barrel.
The 1:7 twist rate on this barrel stabilizes a broad range of projectile weights in the .223 platform. A faster twist like 1:7 is particularly good for heavier bullets while still handling lighter match rounds reliably.
Yes. The 1/2x28 muzzle threading accepts standard .223/5.56 suppressors, muzzle brakes, flash hiders, and other muzzle devices with that thread pitch.
This 20-inch, rifle-length gas system barrel is designed for SPR (Special Purpose Rifle) builds, MK12 platform extensions, and precision carbines built for competition (DCM, National Matches) and extended-range shooting in .223 Wylde.
