Rock Island Armory
The Rock Island Armory USA 1911 A2 Tac Ultra is a modern take on the timeless 1911 platform, chambered in 9mm Luger and built for shooters who want reliable, accurate firepower in a proven design. This semi-automatic pistol combines the ergonomic familiarity and handling of the classic 1911 with practical upgrades for contemporary duty and sport shooting. With a 5-inch barrel and compact dimensions, it balances controlability with enough sight radius for precision work at distance.
The 16-round magazine capacity gives you more rounds downrange between reloads than traditional single-stack 1911s—a real advantage whether you're at the range, in a defensive scenario, or running competition drills. The Novak front sight and LPA rear sight are solid, straightforward sighting solutions that work. A 4–6 pound trigger pull keeps things crisp without being hair-trigger sensitive. At 2.5 pounds, it carries without fatigue.
Rock Island Armory's USA-made 1911s have earned a reputation for honest performance and value. This Tac Ultra model delivers that reliability in a format that appeals to shooters comfortable with traditional 1911 operation but wanting modern capacity and handling. Whether you're a 1911 purist exploring 9mm, a practical shooter building a duty gun, or someone who values American manufacturing, the A2 Tac Ultra is worth a serious look.
