Rival Arms
A thread protector is a simple but essential accessory for any 9mm pistol with a threaded barrel. The Rival Arms 9mm Luger Thread Protector keeps your barrel's threads clean and protected when you're not running a suppressor, compensator, or muzzle device. Built from 416R stainless steel with a gold PVD finish, it combines durability with a refined look that complements modern pistol builds. The 1/2"-28 tpi specification matches the standard 9mm Luger thread pattern, making this a direct fit for most threaded 9mm barrels on the market.
Whether you're a competitive shooter, a defensive handgun user, or someone who simply values quality parts, a thread protector is the kind of small detail that separates a well-maintained firearm from one that gets neglected. Debris, moisture, and corrosion can degrade your barrel threads over time—especially if you live in a humid climate or store your pistol in less-than-ideal conditions. This protector stands as a straightforward barrier against those environmental threats.
The gold PVD finish serves both form and function: it's visually distinctive and offers enhanced corrosion resistance compared to bare stainless. 416R stainless is a premium choice for firearms parts, known for its hardness and reliability under stress. Rival Arms' attention to finish and material means this isn't just a throwaway accessory—it's something you'll actually want on your gun.

Yes, if your barrel is threaded to the standard 9mm Luger specification of 1/2"-28 tpi. This pattern is used on most modern threaded 9mm handguns. If you're unsure about your barrel's thread pitch, consult your firearm's documentation or speak with a gunsmith before ordering.
A thread protector seals your barrel threads when you're not using a suppressor, compensator, or other muzzle device. This keeps dirt, moisture, and debris from accumulating in the threads, which can lead to corrosion and make future muzzle devices harder to install. It's a cheap insurance policy for the life of your barrel.
Yes. The gold PVD (physical vapor deposition) finish is applied at the material level and is more durable and corrosion-resistant than simple anodizing or plating. 416R stainless steel is also inherently corrosion-resistant, so this combination offers solid long-term protection in field conditions.
The thread protector is designed to be removed when you attach another muzzle device. Simply unscrew it and install your suppressor, compensator, or brake in its place using the same 1/2"-28 threads.
