Remington Premier 243 Winchester 90 grain Swift Scirocco II ammunition delivers the kind of terminal performance and accuracy that serious hunters and precision shooters demand. Built around Swift's proven Scirocco II projectile, this round pairs a polymer-tipped bullet with a bonded copper jacket and lead core, creating a cartridge that performs reliably across the velocity ranges you'll encounter in the field—from close-range follow-ups to longer shots where energy is dropping off.

The Scirocco II's design centers on three proven performance pillars. The polymer tip initiates expansion while cutting through air resistance more efficiently than blunt designs. The boat-tail profile minimizes drag at the rear of the bullet, helping it maintain velocity and energy downrange. Most importantly, the jacket and core are bonded together—not just seated—which means the bullet holds together through impact and bone, retaining over 75% of its weight rather than fragmenting and leaving energy on the table. That kind of weight retention translates to deep, reliable penetration on game.

If you reload or handload, you'll appreciate the bullet's concentricity and secant ogive profile, which reward careful load development with match-grade accuracy potential. If you're buying factory ammunition, Remington's quality control on the Premier line means each round shoots to the same point of impact as the last. This is ammunition built for hunters who can't afford to miss, and shooters who won't accept excuses.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Scirocco II bullet design, and what makes it different from standard ammunition?

The Swift Scirocco II combines a polymer tip for reduced air resistance, a boat-tail profile to cut drag, and a bonded copper jacket that stays locked to the lead core through impact. That bonding process prevents jacket separation and ensures the bullet retains over 75% of its weight for deep penetration—key advantages over cheaper ammunition where the jacket and core can separate on impact.

Is Remington Premier 243 Winchester ammunition suitable for hunting?

Yes. The Scirocco II's weight retention, penetration, and expansion characteristics make it well-suited for hunting applications where reliable terminal performance matters. The polymer tip initiates expansion while the bonded construction ensures the bullet stays intact through heavy bone and muscle.

Can I reload these cartridges?

The product information provided covers loaded ammunition only. For reloading compatibility, consult Remington's reloading data or contact the manufacturer directly.

What kind of accuracy should I expect from this ammunition?

Remington Premier ammunition is built with quality control standards that support consistent shot placement. The Scirocco II's secant ogive profile and precise bullet concentricity allow the round to reward both careful shooting and sound rifle setup. Actual accuracy will depend on your rifle and load development practices.
