Redstar Ordnance
The Redstar Ordnance BSR47 is a Bulgarian AKM pattern rifle chambered in 7.62x39, built around a proven design that's been tested in the field for decades. This is a no-nonsense, mil-spec platform rifle in a compact 16.3-inch barrel length, purpose-built for shooters who want authenticity, reliability, and the distinctive handling of a true AK platform without compromise. Whether you're exploring the 7.62x39 cartridge for the first time or adding another trusted rifle to your battery, the BSR47 delivers the rugged simplicity AK shooters have relied on since the Cold War.
Starting with the foundation: a 1mm stamped receiver keeps weight down while maintaining the toughness this design is known for. The hammer-forged barrel is fitted to AKM spec, and the blued finish provides classic corrosion resistance with that traditional AK appearance. The 16.3-inch length strikes a practical balance between maneuverability and sight radius—short enough for movement through rough terrain or tight spaces, long enough to keep velocity consistent with the 7.62x39 round. Adjustable sights allow you to dial in your zero without reaching for aftermarket optics if you prefer irons.
Red Star's furniture set gives the rifle a cohesive look while keeping ergonomics consistent across the platform. The rifle ships with a 30-round Magpul Pmag, so you're ready to run drills or head to the range immediately. The AKM layout means compatibility with the deep aftermarket support this platform enjoys—handguards, muzzle devices, furniture, and optic mounts are widely available if you decide to tailor it to your needs.
