Redding Reloading Equipment
The Redding Series-D 3-Die Set for Straight Wall Cases in .41 Special is purpose-built for reloaders working with straight wall rifle cartridges that demand a three-die approach. Unlike bottleneck cases, straight wall cartridges like the .41 Special require a dedicated workflow: you can't resize and expand the neck in a single stroke and maintain the precision fit modern ammunition demands. Redding's Series-D handles this reality with three distinct dies, each engineered to handle its stage of the reloading sequence with the control and consistency you need for reliable ammunition.
What makes this set practical is how it addresses the real constraints of straight wall reloading. The full length resizing die includes a decapping rod assembly, stripping out spent primers in the same operation. The expander die features a neck expanding plug that opens the case mouth to the proper dimension for bullet seating without over-working the brass. Finally, the seating die combines bullet guidance, an integrated crimp ring, and the correct seating plug to finish your round safely and consistently.
Whether you're precision reloading for a lever gun, working up ammunition for a cowboy action rifle, or simply demand tight control over every round you fire, this Series-D set gives you the three-step process that straight wall cases require. Redding's reputation for die quality and attention to fit means each die will cycle smoothly in your press and hold tolerances that matter downrange.
| Cartridge | .41 Special |
| Manufacturer | Redding |
| Die Set Type | Series-D |
| Number of Dies | 3 |
| Components Included | Full length resizing die (with decapping rod), expander die (with neck expanding plug), seating die (with bullet guide and crimp ring) |
Straight wall cartridges like the .41 Special have parallel sides, which means you cannot resize and expand the neck for bullet seating in a single operation without compromising either fit or case life. The three-die approach—resize, expand, then seat—gives you control at each stage and ensures proper neck dimensions for your bullet.
You get three dies: a full length resizing die with a decapping rod assembly to remove spent primers, an expander die with a neck expanding plug, and a seating die that includes a bullet guide and integrated crimp ring for finished ammunition.
Redding Series-D dies follow standard reloading die specifications, but always verify your press is suitable for the dies you plan to use. Consult your press manual and Redding's compatibility guidance before purchasing.
This set is chambered for .41 Special straight wall cartridges only. Do not attempt to use it for other calibers.
