Redding Reloading Equipment
The Redding Boss single-stage press is built for reloaders who want a straightforward, no-frills machine that handles the fundamentals of case sizing and bullet seating without complexity. Cast iron construction gives this press a sturdy, lasting foundation—it's the kind of equipment that can live on a bench for decades. The offset frame is a smart design choice: it gives you a clear sightline into what's happening at the ram and die, making it easier to manage case alignment and bullet seating without guesswork.
The automatic primer arm is a quality-of-life feature that works in sync with ram travel, positioning itself when you need it and retracting when you don't. By positioning the priming arm at the bottom of ram travel, Redding gives you the best leverage and most natural feel—priming becomes efficient rather than a chore. The offset handle and compound linkage mean you're not muscling oversized cases through sizing operations; even magnum cases move through with reasonable effort, which matters when you're processing hundreds of rounds at a time.
This is a press for the reloader who wants proven engineering, straightforward operation, and equipment that doesn't demand constant tinkering. Whether you're developing loads for hunting rifle cartridges, handgun rounds, or trying to get consistent ammunition together without breaking the bank on progressive machinery, the Boss delivers. It's a sensible entry point and a reliable workhorse for smaller-volume operations.
The Boss is a single-stage press designed for careful, controlled reloading. It works well for hunters and precision shooters developing loads for rifle or handgun ammunition, or for any reloader who prefers to work at a deliberate pace and manage each round individually rather than using a progressive system.
Yes. The compound linkage is engineered to make sizing magnum cases more manageable by multiplying mechanical advantage, so you're not applying excessive force manually.
The automatic primer arm moves in and out of position automatically as the ram travels, and it's positioned at the bottom of ram stroke where you have the best mechanical advantage and most natural feel. You don't have to think about it—it just works.
