Real Avid
The Real Avid Master Sight Pusher is a gunsmithing tool built for anyone who needs to install or remove pistol sights without damaging the slide. Whether you're a shooter maintaining your own carry gun, a range enthusiast swapping out iron sights, or a gunsmith handling customer work, this ergonomic sight pusher gives you the control and mechanical advantage to handle press-fit dovetail sights on most modern pistols—including striker-fired designs and 1911s—with confidence.
The core of this tool is its oversized, ergonomic handle engineered to deliver serious torque with manageable effort. The reversible press block adapts to dovetail slots as narrow as 5/32" (4mm), so whether you're working with compact carry pistols or full-size duty guns, you've got coverage. Adjustable, non-marring contact surfaces cradle the slide securely without marring the finish—a detail that matters whether you're protecting a gun's resale value or just respecting the work someone else did on their weapon.
Set-up is straightforward: the tool mounts to a bench vise via an integral attachment ridge, keeping your hands free to focus on alignment and pressure. Extra-fine drive threads on the adjustment mechanism let you dial in precise, controlled movement, so there's no guesswork when you're threading a sight into or out of the slide. Heavy-duty construction throughout means this is a one-time investment that will outlast your current gun safe.
If you reload, maintain a small stable of carry guns, or just want the ability to swap sights without a gunsmith visit, the Master Sight Pusher earns a place in your bench setup. It's the kind of tool that pays for itself the first time it saves you a trip downtown or lets you dial in exactly the sight picture you want.
