The Real Avid Bore Boss 6.5/243/260 Cal rifle cleaning tool brings a fresh approach to field and bench gun maintenance. Unlike traditional bore cleaning with separate ropes, cables, and cases scattered across your kit, this all-in-one cleaner consolidates everything into one compact, purpose-built package. The 32-inch bronze bristle brush is sized specifically for medium rifle calibers—6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, and .260 Remington—making it a smart buy if that's your primary rifle stable.

The real innovation here is the integrated case design: the Flex-Case handle doubles as cable storage, so you're not hunting for pieces at the range or in the field. Just open the case, feed the dual-action cable through your barrel, clip it for a secure grip, and pull to scrub. The cable itself is single-piece and designed to connect quickly without fumbling. The handle combines durable polycarbonate with flexible overmolding, giving you a comfortable, non-slip grip even with wet hands or gloved fingers.

This is the kind of tool that belongs in a field pack or truck kit—compact, fast to deploy, and free of the tangle-prone mess of loose cables and brushes. Real Avid engineered this line to simplify bore cleaning, and the Bore Boss does exactly that for shooters working with standard rifle calibers. If you run 6.5/243/260 rifles and want a cleaner that travels light and stays organized, this is worth a close look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this bore cleaner work with my 6.5 Creedmoor rifle?

Yes. The Real Avid Bore Boss 6.5/243/260 is specifically calibrated for 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, and .260 Remington rifles. The 32-inch brush is the right diameter and length for these medium rifle calibers.

How does the cable storage system work?

The Flex-Case handle opens and closes to store the cable inside, eliminating the need for a separate storage bag or case. Just unwind the cable when you're ready to clean, and wind it back into the handle when you're done.

Is this tool suitable for field cleaning, or is it bench-only?

The Bore Boss is designed as a field-ready tool. The compact, integrated case design and quick-connect cable make it practical for cleaning at the range or in the field, though it works equally well on the bench.

What kind of brush does it use?

The Bore Boss features a phosphor bronze brush. Bronze is durable, effective at removing fouling, and safe for all barrel steels.
