RCBS
The RCBS X Die Full Length Set for .30-06 Springfield is purpose-built for serious reloaders who want to simplify their brass prep workflow. This isn't just another full-length sizer—it features RCBS's patented X-Sizer die technology, which fundamentally changes how your cases behave during the sizing cycle. Once you've done an initial trim of .020" off the maximum case length to establish a baseline, you're effectively done trimming. That's the whole point: reduce case growth with every reload so you don't face repeated trips to the trim die.
Inside the X-Sizer die is a specially designed mandrel with an integrated expander ball and decapping pin. The mandrel sits at an extremely close tolerance to the die's neck wall. As you size your .30-06 brass, the neck contacts this mandrel during the sizing stroke, which restrains case growth without shortening case length or thickening neck walls. Cases sized repeatedly in the X-Die will grow a few thousandths in the first several cycles, then stabilize below maximum length and stay there—no meaningful loss of accuracy or usable case life reported.
This approach saves time over a reloading session and reduces the stress on your brass from constant full-length sizing and trimming. For hunters and precision shooters working with .30-06 Springfield who reload their own ammo, the X Die set eliminates a recurring maintenance step and delivers consistent, reliable results across hundreds of rounds.

Once you've done an initial trim of .020" off the maximum case length to standardize your brass, the X Die's mandrel design restrains further growth. Cases will grow a few thousandths in the first few reloads, then stabilize below the maximum length. After that, trimming is typically unnecessary for the life of the brass.
The X Die features a specially designed mandrel with an extremely close tolerance to the die's neck wall. During sizing, the case neck contacts this mandrel, which mechanically restrains growth and prevents the neck wall from thickening the way it does in a conventional full-length sizer.
No. Cases sized repeatedly in the X Die stabilize at a consistent length and maintain accuracy without discernible loss of case life.
Yes. This set is specifically designed for .30-06 Springfield brass and is not compatible with other calibers.
