RCBS
If you're serious about casting .45-caliber bullets for cowboy action shooting, lever-gun hunting, or large-bore handloading, the RCBS Cowboy Bullet Mould in .452/.454" double cavity is built to deliver consistent, quality cast projectiles. This double-cavity mould produces 230-grain bullets—a proven weight for .45 Colt, .454 Casull, and related cartridges—letting you cast two identical bullets per cycle and pick up the pace when you're working through volume.
Precision engineering matters when casting. The mould blocks are ground square and machined from solid cast iron to ensure clean, accurate cavities that produce bullets ready to use with minimal sizing and finishing. The steel alignment pins keep everything locked tight, shot after shot, even after years of regular use. A hefty 3/16-inch solid steel sprue plate—secured with tempered steel spring washers and screws—handles the heat and pressure of repeated casting cycles without deflection or wear, so your gate stays consistent and waste stays minimal.
Note that this mould comes without handles; they're available separately and are an affordable add-on. Pair it with your RCBS casting pot, a dipper, and basic reloading bench real estate, and you've got the foundation for producing your own economical, custom cast ammunition.
| Caliber/Diameter | .452/.454" |
| Bullet Weight | 230 grains |
| Cavity Count | Double (2 bullets per pour) |
| Material | Solid cast iron blocks with steel pins and sprue plate |
| Sprue Plate | 3/16" solid steel, screwed fasteners |
| Handles Included | No (available separately) |
This mould produces bullets for .45-caliber cartridges, including .45 Colt, .454 Casull, and other large-bore handgun and rifle rounds that accept a .452" to .454" diameter projectile. Always verify compatibility with your specific firearm and cartridge before casting.
Yes. The mould comes without handles; they are sold separately and are modestly priced. Handles make the casting process safer and more comfortable during extended sessions at the pot.
Built from solid cast iron with steel reinforcements, this mould is engineered for long-term use. The alignment pins and quality fasteners are designed to maintain cavity registration over many years and thousands of castings with proper care and cleaning.
Double-cavity moulds produce two bullets per pour, significantly speeding up your casting workflow compared to single-cavity designs. This is especially valuable if you're casting in volume for hunting season or match prep.
