RCBS
The RCBS 12601 is a full-length two-die reloading set engineered for .257 Weatherby Magnum bottleneck cartridges. If you're loading or reloading for a .257 Weatherby Magnum rifle, this die set gives you the core tools needed to resize and seat bullets with precision. Built to SAAMI minimum specifications, the set ensures your cases return to factory dimensions and headspace tolerances—critical for accuracy and safety in a magnum cartridge.
The full-length sizer die handles the heavy lifting: it resizes the case body and neck, de-primes the spent primer pocket, and expands the neck to accept a fresh bullet. Venting in the die design prevents trapped air and excess lubricant from marring case shoulders and walls during the sizing stroke. The seater die seats bullets while its integrated roll crimper locks them in place in a single stroke, streamlining your loading process and reducing handling steps.
This is a standard 7/8-inch-14 thread set, so it fits any conventional reloading press that uses the industry-standard thread pattern. Whether you're fine-tuning loads for long-range hunting or building ammunition to specific performance targets, a dedicated die set for your .257 Weatherby Magnum removes variables and lets you focus on consistency.
| Caliber | .257 Weatherby Magnum |
| Die Type | Full-length 2-die set |
| Thread Size | 7/8-inch-14 |
| Sizer Die Component | Full-length sizer with expander-decapping unit |
| Seater Die Component | Seater die with roll crimper and bullet seater plug |
Yes, if your press uses the standard 7/8-inch-14 thread connection. Nearly all conventional single-stage and progressive presses use this industry-standard thread, so the RCBS 12601 will screw directly into your setup.
The RCBS 12601 is designed specifically for .257 Weatherby Magnum. Do not use this set for any other caliber; die sets are cartridge-specific to ensure proper sizing and headspace.
Yes. The seater die features an integrated roll crimper that operates during the seating stroke, securing each bullet simultaneously as it's seated. This eliminates a separate crimping step.
The set includes the full-length sizer die with expander-decapping unit and the seater die with bullet seater plug and roll crimper. These are the two essential dies for basic .257 Weatherby Magnum reloading.
