The Primary Weapons Systems A5 Enhanced Buffer Tube with A5H2 spring is a direct impingement system upgrade designed for shooters who want to fine-tune their AR platform rifle's action. Whether you're building a precision rifle for long-range work, a hunting rifle that demands reliability, or a general-purpose platform, the A5 system offers a different approach to bolt carrier group dampening and spring rate management than standard mil-spec designs. The A5 tube geometry and compatible spring system let you dial in your rifle's recoil impulse and cycling characteristics to match your ammunition, barrel length, and shooting priorities.

Primary Weapons Systems engineered the A5 system as a modern alternative to traditional buffer tube setups. The A5H2 spring works in conjunction with the A5 buffer tube to manage the force and timing of your bolt carrier group's rearward travel. This matters most if you're running a suppressed rifle, shooting subsonic ammunition, or simply want smoother, more controlled recoil. The system is popular among AR builders and gunsmiths who recognize that one-size-fits-all buffer solutions don't account for individual rifle configurations.

Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic AR maintenance. The A5 tube replaces your existing buffer tube and accepts its own dedicated buffer system, so you'll need to pair it with an appropriate A5-pattern buffer. This is a precision component built to PWS quality standards—the kind of upgrade that experienced shooters reach for when they're taking their rifle setup seriously, whether for hunting in variable terrain, shooting matches, or running drills at the range.
