The PTR 105 PDWR .308 Winchester pistol is a semi-automatic, short-barreled rifle platform built around the proven roller-lock delayed blowback system that powers HK-pattern firearms. This is a serious option for shooters who want a compact, magazine-fed .308 platform for close-quarters work, home defense, or specialized training. With an 8 1/8-inch match-grade bull barrel and overall length of just over 23 inches, it delivers rifle-caliber power in a footprint closer to a carbine than a full-length battle rifle.
The PDWR arrives configured for immediate deployment: H&K-style navy flash hider, Picatinny scope rail, polymer trigger group, and black tactical handguard. The paddle magazine release gives you intuitive control, and the machined butt cap adds structural rigidity. As of January 2016, all 105 PDWR models feature 5/8x24 barrel threading, opening up your suppressor and muzzle brake options. It ships with a 20-round magazine and weighs 7.8 pounds—substantial enough for control, light enough for sustained shooting.
This is the kind of gun that appeals to dedicated enthusiasts who understand the .308 cartridge and appreciate German engineering principles applied to a compact form factor. It's not a pistol in the handgun sense; it's a pistol-configured short-barreled rifle that demands respect and familiarity from the operator. If you're already deep into the PTR ecosystem or hunting for a no-compromise, compact .308 platform, the 105 PDWR delivers proven reliability and precision in a size that doesn't compromise on power.
