Proof Research
The Proof Research Proof Bbl SS PR15 338 ARC is a stainless steel barrel purpose-built for 338 ARC pistol builds. At 16 inches with a 1-in-8 twist rate, this barrel delivers the velocity and spin characteristics the intermediate cartridge needs in a compact format. Whether you're building a pistol-length AR or a short barreled rifle, this Proof Research barrel combines accuracy and durability in a straightforward, no-nonsense package.
Proof Research barrels are known for tight tolerances and consistent chamber specs—the kind of precision that matters when you're handloading for 338 ARC or working up loads for hunting or range work. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion and offers longevity in field conditions. At 16 inches, this barrel is short enough to suit compact setups while maintaining reasonable velocity for the cartridge's design window.
The .750 gas journal and pistol-length gas system keep the action in tune with the shorter barrel, while the 5/8-24 muzzle thread accommodates standard suppressors and muzzle devices common in the AR platform. This is a straightforward component for builders who know what they're doing and are ready to finish a complete upper or lower assembly.
