The PROOF BBL SS bolt-action barrel in .223 Rem is a match-grade component built for serious competition shooters and precision rifle builders who demand consistency on the line. This 26-inch stainless steel barrel features a 1:7 twist rate optimized for the full range of modern .223 ammunition, from lighter varmint loads to heavier competition rounds. Whether you're assembling a custom long-range platform or upgrading an existing competition rifle, this barrel delivers the accuracy foundation that separates winners from also-rans at the range.
Precision starts with the barrel, and PROOF's reputation in the competition community is built on unforgiving tolerances and meticulous craftsmanship. The competition contour strikes a balance between rigidity and practical weight—at 7 lbs 5 oz, it's substantial enough to manage recoil and vibration while remaining manageable in a full rifle system. The 5/8-24 muzzle thread accommodates standard suppressors and muzzle devices, giving you flexibility in your final setup.
This is purpose-built iron for shooters who understand that match performance comes from component quality, not marketing speak. If you're building or rebuilding a precision .223 platform for competition, training, or long-range work, a quality barrel is the investment that actually moves the needle on your groups.

Yes. The 5/8-24 muzzle thread is the standard commercial thread for .223 rifles, accommodating most suppressors, brakes, and flash hiders on the market.
The competition contour is heavier in the breach and moderately tapered toward the muzzle—designed for precision and shot-to-shot consistency under rapid fire. It weighs 7 lbs 5 oz, giving you the stiffness needed for competition accuracy without excessive weight in a complete rifle.
This is a barrel component for custom rifles and builder projects. You'll need to pair it with an action, stock, trigger, and other components to assemble a complete rifle.
