The PROOF BBL CF bolt-action rifle barrel in 7PRC with 24" length and 1-18 thread pitch brings aerospace-grade carbon fiber technology to precision rifle builds. If you're assembling a Zermatt LA-platform rifle and want to cut weight without sacrificing accuracy or barrel life, a carbon fiber wrapped barrel represents a serious upgrade over conventional steel. PROOF Research's process wraps a match-grade 416R stainless steel blank with aerospace-grade carbon fiber and proprietary resin, creating a barrel that performs like fine precision steel while running cooler and lasting longer under sustained fire.
The engineering advantage here is real: carbon fiber naturally diffuses heat along the barrel's length and through its walls, moving thermal energy away from the bore faster than steel alone can manage. That thermal efficiency means your barrel maintains zero shift over longer shooting sessions, whether you're working up loads at the range, pushing through a hunting day, or running precision drills. You get the accuracy potential of a quality steel barrel with the weight savings and heat management of modern composite construction.
Built for shooters who refuse to compromise—hunters stashing pounds on a mountain rifle, competitors chasing consistency across multiple strings, or anyone running a precision platform where durability and performance under demanding conditions matter. This barrel is ready to handle 7PRC's velocity and pressure, built tough enough for real-world use.
| Cartridge | 7PRC |
| Barrel Length | 24" |
| Thread Pitch | 1-18 |
| Platform Compatibility | Zermatt LA |
| Core Material | 416R Stainless Steel |
| Composite Wrap | Aerospace-Grade Carbon Fiber with Proprietary Resin |
Yes—this barrel is threaded specifically for Zermatt LA platforms at 1-18 pitch. Verify your action's thread specification before ordering.
The PROOF barrel uses a significantly reduced contour wrapped in carbon fiber, which removes substantial weight compared to conventional steel barrels of the same length and caliber. Exact weight savings depend on your baseline, but carbon fiber wrapping typically delivers meaningful reductions for mountain and precision builds.
No—the steel blank inside maintains match-grade precision. The carbon fiber wrap improves heat management and barrel rigidity without compromising accuracy potential.
Barrels that cool faster maintain zero shift and accuracy consistency over longer shooting sessions. Carbon fiber's ability to diffuse heat along the length and through the wall keeps your point of impact stable across multiple shots, which is critical for hunting and competition.
