Proof Research
The Proof Research 7mm barrel for bolt-action rifles brings precision engineering and proven reliability to long-range hunting and competitive shooting builds. This 20-inch carbon-fiber Sendero contour barrel is purpose-built for shooters who demand accuracy without excess weight—ideal for hunters covering variable terrain and competitors who value speed and precision in equal measure. Proof Research's reputation for consistent bore quality and attention to manufacturing detail makes this barrel a smart choice whether you're building a mountain rifle or a versatile long-range platform.
Carbon-fiber construction keeps overall weight reasonable—a significant advantage when you're glassing ridges or moving between shooting positions—while the Sendero contour provides the stiffness needed for tight groups across distance. The 8-inch twist rate stabilizes 7mm projectiles across the full spectrum of field-appropriate loads, from lighter varmint rounds to heavy match-grade ammunition. With 5/8-24 muzzle threading, this barrel accommodates the full range of modern suppressor and muzzle brake options, giving you flexibility in final setup.
This is a component-level barrel for gunsmith installation on bolt-action receiver assemblies. Proper headspacing and chamber reaming by a qualified gunsmith are required; this is not a drop-in part. Once installed by someone who knows their craft, a Proof barrel becomes the foundation of a rifle you'll trust for years of hunting and range work.
