A PROOF Research BBL CF Blank Bolt .308 Sendero Light 20" 1-10 Twist barrel is a carbon fiber–wrapped blank ready for your gunsmith to thread and chamber. If you're building a precision bolt-action rifle and weight matters—whether you're glassing ridges all day or setting up for long-range competition—this barrel trades the heft of traditional steel for a dramatic weight savings without sacrificing the accuracy and durability hunters and shooters demand.
Carbon fiber construction delivers stiffness-to-weight advantages that steel simply cannot match. The Sendero Light profile keeps things trim while the 1-10 twist rate is built to stabilize a wide range of .308 Winchester and 7.62 NATO loads. Because this ships as a blank, you'll work with a gunsmith to finish the chamber and thread the muzzle to your specs—whether that's for a suppressor mount, muzzle brake, or traditional crown. That partnership between quality barrel and professional gunsmithing is how precision rifles are actually built.
PROOF Research carbon barrels are engineered to shed heat more efficiently than steel, helping sustained accuracy during strings of fire and extending barrel life in demanding conditions. The carbon wrap also shrugs off the dings, nicks, and weather that would mark a traditional barrel—a real advantage if your rifle sees field use. These are match-grade barrels designed to hold tight groups from a quality action and trigger, and the reduced harmonic vibration inherent to carbon construction supports that accuracy without the point-of-impact shifts that can plague steel barrels when they heat up.
Building a rifle is personal. A blank barrel gives you and your gunsmith the freedom to thread it, crown it, and time it exactly the way you want. PROOF Research has spent years perfecting the carbon fiber formula; this is the blank they trust for rifles that need to perform.
| Caliber | .308 |
| Barrel Length | 20" |
| Twist Rate | 1-10 |
| Profile | Sendero Light |
| Construction | Carbon Fiber–Wrapped |
| Type | Blank Bolt-Action Barrel |
| Finish | Ready for Gunsmith Threading & Chambering |
A blank barrel arrives unthreaded and unchambered, giving you and your gunsmith the ability to customize the chamber, muzzle thread, and crown to your exact specifications. This is the standard approach for high-end custom builds where precision and fit matter. You'll work with a qualified gunsmith to complete the finishing work.
PROOF Research carbon barrels are significantly lighter than steel while maintaining stiffness and strength. They dissipate heat more efficiently, reducing point-of-impact shift during sustained fire, and they're more resistant to environmental wear. For hunters and shooters who value every ounce and absolute consistency, that's a meaningful upgrade.
The 1-10 twist rate is a versatile all-around twist for .308 Winchester and 7.62 NATO, suitable for the broad range of factory and handloaded ammunition most shooters use. For specific load recommendations and twist rate compatibility, consult with your gunsmith during the chambering process.
Yes. This is a blank barrel, so professional gunsmithing is required to thread the muzzle, chamber the bore, and finish any other details per your rifle build plan. That's the nature of a precision blank and an important part of building a quality rifle.
