Primos
The Primos 951 Tramplifier is a long-range elk call built specifically to cut through the backcountry and reach bulls at distance. Unlike closed-reed designs that muffle sound, this single-reed cow and calf call uses an open reed paired with a premium acrylic barrel to project clear, high-pitched vocalizations—the mews and chirps that mimic estrous cows and young elk. If you hunt high country where elk are spread across draws and ridges, a call that carries is non-negotiable, and the Tramplifier's acrylic soundboard delivers volume without sacrificing tone.
The open single-reed design is built for ease of use in the field. You don't need a practiced diaphragm technique or years of experience to produce realistic cow and calf sounds; the call's architecture handles the heavy lifting. That simplicity matters when you're glassing for a response, need to reposition, and want to call again without fumbling. The acrylic construction isn't just a marketing angle—it genuinely amplifies output compared to traditional materials, making the 951 one of the loudest open-reed elk calls Primos has engineered.
This is the workhorse call for September and October elk hunting: the rut period when bulls are driven by cow vocalizations. Whether you're running and gunning after a bugle response or working a herd you've located, the Tramplifier's reach and clarity give you the acoustic edge to turn curiosity into commitment.
The single-reed design focuses on high-pitched vocalizations: cow mews, cow chirps, and calf sounds. These are the calls most effective during the rut when bulls are actively seeking cows.
Yes. The open single-reed design is straightforward to blow and produces accurate sounds without requiring advanced diaphragm control or extensive practice.
The acrylic barrel acts as a soundboard that amplifies output, making the Tramplifier one of the loudest open-reed elk calls available. This extended range is particularly valuable when hunting across long distances or in steep country where sound carry is critical.
The Tramplifier is purpose-built for long-range elk hunting during the rut, where reaching distant bulls with clear cow and calf vocalizations is the goal.
