Primos
The Primos 1642 Sonic Dome Double Elk Call is a specialized game call designed for elk hunters targeting bugle-responsive bulls during the rut. Built with a dual-chamber design, this call lets you produce realistic elk vocalizations—from high-pitched cow calls to deep, challenging bull bugles—giving you flexibility in the field to adapt your strategy to the situation and respond to approaching elk. Whether you're in timber, open country, or the high peaks, the Sonic Dome's consistent, natural-sounding output cuts through distance and gets the attention of bulls looking to respond to competition or locate cows.
Elk calling demands both precision and versatility. A quality elk call in your pack can turn a quiet morning into an encounter, but only if it sounds convincing and covers the range of vocalizations you'll need. The dual-chamber design of the Sonic Dome addresses this directly—it's built to handle the variety of calls that successful elk hunting requires without forcing you to carry multiple pieces of gear. That matters when you're hiking in before dawn or covering ground late in the day.
Primos has a solid reputation for game-call reliability, and the 1642 fits that track record. If you're serious about elk hunting and want a call that can handle both cow and bull vocalizations from a single, portable unit, the Sonic Dome Double Elk Call is worth adding to your arsenal. Field-test it at home first to build confidence in your technique, then deploy it when the bugle season heats up.
The dual-chamber design allows you to produce both cow calls and bull bugles, giving you flexibility to respond to different elk behavior and calling situations in the field.
Yes. The call's design is straightforward to use, though like all elk calls, practice at home before hunting will help you develop confident, realistic-sounding technique.
Elk calls are most effective during the rut when bulls are responsive and actively bugling. Check your local hunting regulations for specific season dates and any calling restrictions in your area.
