Primary Weapons Systems
The Primary Weapons Systems UXR Elite Rifle System in .223 Wylde with a 16-inch barrel is a modular, modern platform built for shooters who want one rifle to do more. PWS engineered the UXR around a simple idea: give you a solid foundation, then let you adapt it. The receiver is machined from 7075-T651 aluminum, hard-anodized to mil-spec durability, and fully ambidextrous—controls work equally well for right- and left-handed shooters. The 16-inch 41V50 steel barrel wears a 1/8 twist and ships from PWS's Boise facility with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee when you feed it quality ammunition.
The real standout is the Barrel Xchange System. Swapping barrels and calibers (think .223 Wylde, .308 WIN, or 300 BLK) takes minutes, not an armorer's bench. That modularity extends to the MLOK handguard—swap it for shorter lengths to match your barrel and load-out. The long-stroke piston action is proven and refined from PWS's legacy designs, paired with a bore evacuator that directs gas safely down the range instead of back at your face. Add the three-position adjustable gas block (including a dedicated suppressor tune), and you've got a platform that cycles reliably whether you're running full-power rounds, subs, or a can.
The folding buttstock flips left or right, with adjustable cheek height and length of pull so you dial in your fit. The new PWS FRC compensator cuts recoil and muzzle rise, keeping your sight picture tight. At 7.9 pounds in standard trim, it's light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to shoot straight. The UXR is a rifle that grows with your needs—whether you're zeroing in at the range, running a course, or working through scenarios in the field.
