Primary Weapons Systems
The Primary Weapons Systems Mk2 Mod 2 in 8.6 Blackout is a purpose-built rifle engineered for shooters who demand serious terminal performance in a compact, manageable package. Built on PWS's proven Mk2 platform, this rifle chambers the increasingly popular 8.6 Blackout cartridge—a round that delivers heavy bullet energy at subsonic velocities, making it a natural choice for suppressed shooting, close-quarters hunting, and specialized tactical applications. The 16.1-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between velocity and handheld ergonomics, while the force compensator helps manage recoil and muzzle rise in a short action setup.
PWS rifles are known for their attention to detail and build quality. This Mod 2 configuration carries that reputation forward with features designed for real-world reliability. Whether you're running suppressed for stealth in the field, shooting subsonic loads for hearing-safe practice, or looking for a versatile intermediate-range performer, the 8.6 Blackout platform offers genuine versatility that goes well beyond what conventional cartridges can deliver in this format.
This is a rifle for the shooter who's already thought through their ammunition and mission profile—who understands the advantages of heavy, slow-moving projectiles and wants a rifle that's been designed ground-up to exploit them. If you've been curious about 8.6 Blackout but weren't sure where to start, a PWS Mk2 Mod 2 is a no-compromise entry into a platform that serious precision and tactical shooters have already adopted.

8.6 Blackout is a cartridge designed to fire heavy projectiles at subsonic velocities (below the sound barrier). It's popular for suppressed shooting, where it stays supersonic-free and dramatically reduces report. It also offers excellent terminal performance in close to mid-range hunting and tactical scenarios. The round works beautifully with modern suppressors and allows you to run hearing-safe practice without losing power.
Yes. The 8.6 Blackout cartridge was purpose-designed for subsonic performance, and this Mk2 Mod 2 in that caliber is an ideal platform for suppressed shooting. The 16.1-inch barrel and force compensator work together to manage the shooting impulse effectively in this application.
A force compensator is a muzzle device that helps reduce felt recoil and control muzzle rise by redirecting some of the gases and impulse. On a short-barreled rifle like this one, that recoil management makes shooting more controllable and faster follow-up shots more accurate.
