PPU subsonic 7.62x39mm rifle ammunition delivers the velocity control and noise reduction that modern shooters need for suppressed firearms, training, and hunting applications where shot signature matters. Primera Partizan's subsonic line maintains strict manufacturing standards to ensure consistent performance across all 20 rounds per box—each loaded with a 182-grain full metal jacket boat-tail (FMJBT) projectile engineered to stay subsonic while providing reliable feeding and accuracy in modern 7.62x39 platforms.
Subsonic ammunition has earned trust among law enforcement, military trainers, and civilian shooters for good reason: reduced muzzle report and recoil allow for better follow-up shot control and hearing protection without sacrificing terminal performance. The 182-grain FMJBT projectile is heavier than standard 7.62x39 loads, which helps maintain subsonic velocities while delivering clean, consistent ballistics downrange. Whether you're running a suppressed AK variant for home defense, training, or hunting applications, PPU subsonic rounds are built to cycle reliably and group tight.
PPU ammunition is manufactured to military-grade tolerances and is a trusted choice for shooters who demand consistency without the premium markup. If you've been on the fence about subsonic ammunition—or looking to upgrade from lighter subsonic offerings—this is a solid entry point from a factory with decades of rifle cartridge experience.
| Caliber | 7.62x39mm |
| Bullet Type | Full Metal Jacket Boat-Tail (FMJBT) |
| Bullet Weight | 182 grains |
| Ammunition Type | Subsonic |
| Rounds Per Box | 20 |
| Manufacturer | Prvi Partizan (PPU) |
Yes. This ammunition is chambered in standard 7.62x39mm and will function in any rifle or carbine that accepts that cartridge, including AK-platform rifles, SKS rifles, and other 7.62x39 firearms.
Subsonic ammunition is loaded to velocities below the speed of sound (roughly 1,125 feet per second). This dramatically reduces the supersonic "crack" of the bullet passing through the air. When paired with a suppressor, subsonic rounds produce significantly lower noise signatures than standard ammunition, making them ideal for hearing protection, training, and hunting in noise-sensitive situations.
Yes. Subsonic ammunition functions in both suppressed and unsuppressed firearms. The noise reduction benefit is most noticeable when used with a suppressor, but the lighter recoil and lower report are present either way.
A boat-tail projectile has a tapered, streamlined rear end rather than a flat base. This design improves ballistic efficiency and can help maintain velocity over distance and reduce wind drift—beneficial traits for subsonic loads where velocity is already limited.
