Pioneer Arms
The Pioneer Arms Micro Hellpup Classic in 7.62x39 is a compact, modern take on the AK platform scaled down for shooters who want serious capability in a handholdable package. Built on a 7-inch barrel, this micro-format rifle bridges the gap between a traditional rifle and a pistol, making it an intriguing choice for shooters who value maneuverability, distinct ergonomics, and the proven 7.62x39 cartridge without the full-size footprint. Whether you're exploring alternative AR platforms or after a specialized setup for specific roles, the Micro Hellpup brings AK-pattern reliability into unconventional territory.
Pioneer Arms has earned respect in the AK-builder space for attention to detail and parts quality, and this model reflects that ethos. The Micro Hellpup Classic retains the core appeal of the 7.62x39 round—affordable practice ammunition, proven ballistics, and a familiar operating system for those already comfortable with Kalashnikov-pattern rifles. The compact footprint opens possibilities for shooters working with space constraints or experimenting with non-traditional rifle roles.
This is not a conventional hunting rifle or a straightforward sport shooter's platform. It's purpose-built for those who understand what they're getting: a short-barreled, AK-pattern pistol that demands familiarity with its operating characteristics and local legal compliance. Proper setup, familiarity, and respect for its capabilities are essential before taking it downrange.

That depends on your state and local laws, as well as the specific configuration you order. Federal law and state regulations classify short-barreled rifles strictly; improper setup or paperwork can create legal jeopardy. Before purchase, verify the legal status in your jurisdiction and confirm whether the setup you're buying complies with local law.
The Micro Hellpup fires standard 7.62x39 ammunition—the same cartridge used in AK-pattern rifles. This round is widely available and typically affordable compared to many rifle cartridges.
