Pietta
The Pietta GWII Deluxe California .45 LC revolver brings classic single-action appeal to shooters and collectors who want authenticity without compromise. Built on Pietta's Great Western II platform and chambered in the versatile .45 Colt, this 4.75-inch barrel model pairs proven mechanical reliability with upgraded ergonomics. The Ultra Ivory grips elevate the gun beyond entry-level offerings—a feature previously reserved for Pietta's Custom Series. Whether you're setting up for Cowboy Action Shooting, historical reenactment, or simply appreciate the timeless lines of a proper Colt-style revolver, this Deluxe variant delivers the fit and feel serious shooters demand.
The casehardened finish on the frame provides authentic aesthetics and functional corrosion resistance, a hallmark of quality single-action revolvers. The 4.75-inch barrel is the sweet spot for balance—long enough for sight radius and velocity in .45 LC, compact enough for handling and carry. Pietta's manufacturing tolerances have built a strong reputation among Cowboy Action competitors and period-correct shooters, and this Deluxe model extends that heritage to a wider audience at accessible pricing compared to full Custom builds.
Ultra Ivory grips make a real difference in hand feel and aesthetics, offering superior comfort during extended shooting sessions and adding visual appeal that catches light the way genuine ivory did on vintage guns. This is a working revolver—not a safe queen—engineered for the shooter who wants to use it regularly and take pride in how it looks and handles.

Yes. The Great Western II platform is purpose-built for Cowboy Action competitions. The 4.75-inch barrel and .45 Colt chambering are both standard in the sport, and many competitors rely on Pietta single-actions for matches and training.
Ultra Ivory grips were previously only available on Pietta's higher-tier Custom Series. They provide superior ergonomics and visual appeal compared to basic grip options, making this Deluxe model a meaningful step up in fit and aesthetics.
The revolver is chambered in .45 LC (Colt), which fires standard commercial .45 Colt ammunition available from most ammunition suppliers and online retailers.
Casehardening is a traditional finish that hardens the surface of the frame while leaving the interior softer and more shock-resistant. It provides good corrosion protection and is the standard choice for this platform, though like any steel finish it requires reasonable care to maintain long-term.
