Keeping your AR-15 chamber clean is non-negotiable for reliability and longevity, and the Otis FG368HT 7.62mm AR chamber brush is purpose-built to do exactly that. This 7.62mm chamber brush uses a dual-bristle design—tapered bronze bristles that work the chamber neck and shoulder, paired with steel bristles at the base to scrub the star chamber around the locking lugs. That combination means you're getting thorough, targeted cleaning in the areas where powder residue and fouling accumulate fastest.

The brush features a brass stem that's cold-welded to the core, and the bristle tip is folded rather than cut, which helps prevent fraying and extends the working life of the tool. It's fitted with a standard 8-32" thread, so it works with any rod or handle that uses that universal connection—meaning you can integrate it into your existing Otis or generic cleaning kit without buying a new framework. At 1 inch in overall bristle width, it's sized to work effectively in 7.62mm chambers without oversizing or damaging the bore.

Whether you're breaking in a new build, maintaining a duty rifle, or just keeping your AR running clean between matches or hunts, a dedicated chamber brush is a small investment that pays dividends in how your gun functions. It only takes a few seconds of attention during your regular cleaning routine to prevent the buildup that can lead to extraction problems or tough extraction on cold mornings in the field.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this chamber brush work with my Otis cleaning kit?

Yes. The Otis FG368HT uses a standard 8-32" thread, which is compatible with Otis rods and handles that accept that connection. It will also work with any other cleaning rod or handle that uses the same 8-32" universal thread.

What's the difference between the bronze and steel bristles?

The tapered bronze bristles are designed to gently yet effectively clean the chamber neck and shoulder, while the stiffer steel bristles at the base target the star chamber and the area around the locking lugs where carbon and powder residue tend to buildup. The combination covers the entire chamber with appropriate bristle stiffness for each zone.

Can I use this on calibers other than 7.62mm?

This brush is designed specifically for 7.62mm AR chambers. Do not use it on other calibers, as bore and chamber dimensions differ and using an incorrectly sized brush can damage your firearm.

What does "folded tip" mean, and why does it matter?

The bristle tips are folded and secured at the end rather than cut. This prevents individual bristles from fraying or separating over time, keeping the brush effective through many cleaning cycles and reducing the risk of bristles left behind in your chamber.
